Jeffrey M Braxton, MD FACS is double board certified in General Surgery as well as Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and he has more than 25 years of experience. Dr. Braxton graduated medical school at the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Braxton completed his residency in general surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Areas of expertise include endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, Venaseal, foam and cosmetic sclerotherapy, and other minimally-invasive treatments. “It’s about improving quality of life” he explains when asked about his inspiration for treating venous disease. Dr. Braxton enjoys taking the time to get to know his patients and understand their concerns. He teaches them about the disease process and how treatment can alleviate their pain.

Patients who experience tired or achy legs at the end of the day might have symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) that can lead to serious complications. Dr. Braxton advises patients to seek treatment as soon as possible to minimize their risk. His experience gives him the insight to design individualized treatment plans that achieve the best outcome for each patient.

Dr. Braxton presented “Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy for Varicose Veins” at Northwestern Vascular Symposium. While not working, he enjoys time as a private pilot, scuba diving, photography, hiking, and golf.
