James McEown, MD is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He received his medical training at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, followed by the Fifth Pathway program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and his Internship and Residency at the Department of Internal Medicine at Maricopa Medical Center. He joined Comprehensive Integrated Care (CiC) in 2017 after 14 years at Morrison Vein Institute treating venous disorders. In addition to working at CiC, Dr. McEown currently works at the Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. McEown is also a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society.
For CiC, Dr. McEown performs the following procedures: ambulatory phlebectomy (varicose vein surgery), endovenous laser and radiofrequency treatment, Medicare approved cyanoacrylate venous ablation treatment, venous Doppler (legs), and venous sclerotherapy.
On a personal note, Dr. McEown himself has received vein treatment. This allows him an empathetic understanding of his patients’ needs when working together to advise and treat those suffering from venous disease. In his free time, Dr. McEown enjoys backpacking, hunting, hiking and biking, and he is an avid gardener.
