Karen Garby, MD, RPhS is an interventional radiologist with 20 years of experience. Dr. Garby received her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She is board certified in radiology and completed her residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, after graduating from medical school. Her Interventional Radiology Fellowship was completed at Case Western. She has multiple publications to her credit and has submitted several projects including those in the Proceedings of Neuroradiology, the Journal of Endovascular Surgery, and JVIR. She is the recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award, the On-Time Doctor Award, and Compassionate Doctor Recognition.

Dr. Garby focuses on treating central and peripheral vein disease, lymphedema and uterine fibroids, three common conditions affecting millions of individuals annually. Dr. Garby explains, “I’m pleased to be able to provide state-of-the-art treatment for venous valve failure through a tiny incision, right in my office.” In addition, many women suffer from heavy bleeding and pain from non-cancerous fibroid tumors. Dr. Garby uses a minimally-invasive procedure that cuts off the blood supply to the tumors, resolving the woman’s symptoms without the need for a hysterectomy. She finds it rewarding to help her patients feel better with less down-time. Dr. Garby is also a subject expert in venous disease and vascular ultrasound, vital to the diagnosis of arterial and venous disease. She currently sits on the committee to write exam questions for the RPhs certification national standardized test.

Dr. Garby uses her experience and state-of-the-art equipment to help patients get the symptom relief they need for a better quality of life.
