What is PAD?

PAD stands for Peripheral Arterial Disease, a common condition affecting as many as 12 million Americans. Plaque builds up in the leg arteries which then decreases the blood flow. This disease can result in pain, cramping, heaviness, and fatigue in the legs or hips, which becomes worse with walking or exercise. In some cases, PAD symptoms mimic other conditions, such as neuropathy and restless leg syndrome.

Untreated, PAD can worsen and cause pain at rest, sores, ulcers, and ultimately amputation. At CiC we are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of PAD, offering non-surgical methods to remove the plaque, widen the artery, and improve blood flow.
